Description from the seller
Grande Candelabro Ecclesiastico Dorato Tardo Barocco
Ancient ornately carved and gilded wooden ecclesiastical candelabrum, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century (roughly 1780–1820). Originally conceived as a large altar or liturgical room candlestick, it was subsequently converted into an electric lamp during the 20th century, while fully preserving its extraordinary historical and decorative charm.
The work presents a splendid slender structure with a tripodal carved base, elegant turned elements, and refined original gilding with a natural patina of time. The monumental proportions, the upper candle dish, and the craftsmanship confirm the probable ecclesiastical origin of the object.
The electricity conversion is completely reversible, allowing whoever desires to restore it easily to its original function as an ancient candelabrum.
The item is presented in excellent conservation conditions for its era, extraordinarily well preserved both structurally and aesthetically. Structurally perfect, stable and solid. No invasive restorations, breaks, or missing parts are present. The antique gilding is very well preserved and retains a splendid authentic patina of time.
Only very slight and natural signs of aging are present, minimal and perfectly coherent with the object's age, which confirm its authenticity and history.
Lamp is perfectly functioning. The electrical conversion is reversible.
