Description from the seller
Beautiful oil on linen canvas by Jacobus Doeser (1884-1970)
Cow Landscape.
Jacobus Doeser (1884-1970) was a Dutch painter known for his colorful floral still lifes, landscapes and portraits. He was self-taught and developed his own style that blended influences of luminism and pointillism. During his career he was connected with artists in Laren, where he befriended contemporaries such as Piet Mondriaan.
An important event after his life was the auction of his painting Vase with White Lilies in 2001 at Christie's in Amsterdam, where the work realized 46,000 guilders, marking his renewed recognition. Doeser died in 1970.
The painting deserves a cleaning, as seen at the edges, and then the colors will become bright again. The canvas itself is in prima condition.
Note: The frame is purely illustrative and may be replaced. The frame will not be included when sold abroad.
The painting will not be sold to the USA due to import duties.
