Description from the seller
Swiss brand Halcón watch, with the robust ETA/Unitas 6498 movement, in perfect condition.
The ETA/Unitas 6498 caliber is one of the most iconic and respected manually wound mechanical movements in watchmaking. Originally designed by Unitas in the 1950s for pocket watches, its robust architecture and large size have made it the standard for wristwatches of generous dimensions and learning projects for beginner watchmakers.
This caliber stands out for its simplicity and reliability. As a movement of large dimensions, it offers excellent visibility of its components, which greatly facilitates its maintenance and repair.
Movement type: Manual-wind mechanical.
Dimensions: Diameter 36.60 mm (16½ lignes) and height 4.50 mm.
Configuration: Known as Savonette (or hunter) style, where the small seconds is located at 6 o’clock if the crown is at 3.
Power reserve: Between 46 and 56 hours, depending on the version.
Frequency: Traditionally 18,000 alternations per hour (2.5 Hz), although modern versions have raised the bar.
