Description from the seller
Miguel de Miguel – International Visual Artist*
Miguel is a Spanish visual artist who began his career in 1980 and has developed a solid, emotionally intense body of work recognized worldwide. He has exhibited in cities such as New York, Hong Kong, Paris, Buenos Aires, and Mexico City, and his work is part of some of the most important international collections. He currently resides and creates in Italy.
His painting combines figuration and abstraction with a personal language, where vibrant color, symbolic forms, and deep textures speak of identity, memory, and inner silence. Faceless figures, symbolic natures, and scenes suspended in time form a poetic and sensitive universe.
With more than four decades of creation, Miguel de Miguel offers a body of work that is not only observed: it is experienced from the most intimate realm. An art that transcends borders, styles, and words.
This body of work introduces a more organic and psychological dimension to your language. Here fragmentation does not seem violent, but fluid, almost liquid. The forms interlace like thoughts, memories, or states of the soul that move one inside the other. The central face maintains a fixed, silent gaze, but everything around it is in transformation.
The acid green provides a terrestrial and vital energy that contrasts with the blazing oranges and eroded whites. That combination creates a sense of inner nature: something between growth, wear, and rebirth. The black lines no longer act solely as structure, but as emotional paths that connect different layers of identity.
The work seems to speak of a consciousness trying to reconstruct itself among multiple versions of itself. There are echoes of masks, memory, and continual metamorphosis, but from a more introspective and less dramatic tone than other pieces in the series.
