Description from the seller
Pair of Antique French Brass Candlesticks – Louis-Philippe Period (c. 1830–1870) – Neoclassical Elegance
A refined pair of antique brass candlesticks, most likely of French origin, dating to the Louis-Philippe period (circa 1830–1870).
These elegant candlesticks are beautifully executed in a restrained neoclassical style, characterized by their slender fluted columns inspired by classical architecture. The design is further enhanced by a finely balanced urn-shaped central knop and a stepped, circular base, all turned with precision and harmony.
The clean lines and absence of excessive ornamentation are typical of the Louis-Philippe aesthetic, where classical inspiration meets understated sophistication. The proportions are particularly pleasing, giving the pair a timeless and architectural presence.
Crafted in solid brass with a warm, copper-toned patina, the candlesticks display subtle signs of traditional turning and assembly, characteristic of authentic 19th-century craftsmanship.
These candlesticks are highly versatile and ideal for:
an elegant dining table setting
a mantelpiece or console display
a refined spring or garden table arrangement
