Laphroaig 15 Years – Bottled for the 200th anniversary of the Islay distillery, 43%, 700ml
The famous Islay distillery bottled this Laphroaig 15 Years on the occasion of its 200th anniversary in 2015. The single malt whiskey spent its 15 years of barrel aging entirely in ex-bourbon barrels made of American white oak. The distillery discontinued the Scotch at a strong alcohol content of 43.0 percent by volume. She did without cooling filtration.
Nosing: The nose of the single malt whiskey has notes of fresh mint and grapefruit. Behind it lies peat smoke and salt. Caramel is present.
Tasting: The Laphroaig 15 Years hits the tongue with spicy pepper. It tastes of peat smoke and has a slight sweetness. A hint of seaweed and tobacco introduces the finish.
Finish: The finish is long-lasting. The Islay Whiskey says goodbye softly. After drinking it leaves behind peat smoke and notes of old leather.
