Emiliano Stella's original Pop Art work titled 'Annuccia e Giannino', a mixed media piece on a wooden support measuring 94 cm by 74 cm, hand-signed, from Italy, dated 2010–2020, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Fascinating work by artist Emiliano Stella titled "Annuccia e Giannino". The piece stands out for an extremely original and pop material research: the subject is realized on a plastic-coated, red-and-white checkered tablecloth, glued to a wooden support.
The work draws inspiration from a real photograph from the 1950s, perfectly capturing the atmosphere of Italy during the economic boom. The choice of support (the tablecloth) is not casual, but serves as a narrative element that recalls the conviviality and domestic daily life of the era, turning a common object into a painterly surface.
The wooden support has been structurally reinforced with metal brackets on the back to ensure stability and durability over time. The integration between the texture of the plastic-coated tablecloth and the artist’s stroke creates a vibrant, contemporary visual effect.
Emiliano Stella is an artist with a solid exhibition résumé, having participated in the 54th Venice Biennale and international shows in London and Berlin. His works often play on the border between collective memory and pop irony.
A unique piece for collectors seeking works capable of marrying nostalgia for Italy’s past with a modern and experimental aesthetic language.
