Description from the seller
“Baby Meets Roy” shows a colorful cow in pop-art style, with a yellow flower in its mouth looking directly at the viewer. Its body glows in rich colors – pink, orange, green – with clear black contours and a dotted pattern reminiscent of classic printing techniques. In the background an iconic comic motif explodes in red and yellow, accompanied by the bold lettering «WHAAM!» in bright yellow on a cobalt-blue ground. The work blends playful animal depiction with quotes from the international Pop Art history – pointed, vibrant, and with a smile.

About the artist:
I am Fredi Gertsch, a Swiss contemporary painter with studio and exhibition space in Burgdorf. Since 2021 I have been working in the historic town center at Kronenplatz – in a spacious ground-floor space with four large shop windows, where visitors can regularly see my latest works in the original.
My art combines Pop Art and Street Art aesthetics: bold colors, clear lines, collage-like elements and strong storytelling. Animals – especially cows, sheep and birds – as well as everyday objects take center stage and explore social, ecological and human themes with humor, warmth and optimism.
Many paintings are created freely from imagination, without reference imagery. Others begin with a digital sketch (Procreate), which I consciously transform and abstract during the painting process until a standalone work with my personal visual language emerges.
Exhibitions / Art Fairs (selection):
Casa del Arte, Palma (2022, 2023)
ART3F – International Contemporary Art Fair, Zurich (2023)
Affordable Art Fair, New York (2015, 2018)
Salon International d'Art Contemporain, Cannes (2018)
Artspace Warehouse, Los Angeles (2018–2020)
BEA, Bern (2021, 2022)

Kunstsupermarkt, Solothurn (2012–2024, multiple editions)
