High-quality composition dated to around 1600 on an oak panel, representing the Virgin of Pity.

Stunning treatment of light and shadow, numerous details (Virgin's face, drapery...) that suggest an excellent hand, which we believe to be from the Flemish school, alas anonymous like most paintings of this period (and even those identified are often the subject of much debate among experts and frequent changes of attribution).

Very fine presentation, with light, old overpaintings to be noted as for any multi-century work, infinitesimal losses along the upper margin

Composition de grande qualité réalisée vers 1600 sur un panneau de chêne, représentant la Vierge de pitié.

Superbe traitement de la lumière et des ombres, nombreux détails (visage de la Vierge, drapés...) qui laissent penser à une excellente main, que nous pensons de l'école flamande, hélas anonyme comme la plupart des peintures de cette époque (et même celles qui sont identifiées font souvent l'objet de nombreuses querelles d'experts et fréquents changements d'attribution).
