Barbara Bartolomei, Il solista romantico, an original oil painting on primed cardboard (40 × 30 cm), 2026, depicting animals, hand-signed, sold directly by the artist from Italy.
Description from the seller
The Romantic Soloist
Tribute to feline grace.
Oil on canvas board about 5 mm thick.
It moves sinuously, with a light step,
an ancient soul, a genius of the true.
Does it resemble a human? That would be a mistake,
a waste of ingenuity, of grace and splendor.
That is why all of us, with devoted hearts,
want to fill that void with homage.
To the soloist cat, who wields the bow,
goes our tribute, the purest respect.
But look closely, among the shadows and the room:
the scene is overturned, the dance changes.
It is not he who plays to profit from it,
nor does he follow a score already written by a man.
The violin bows, becomes a servant,
becomes the mirror of so much vigor.
He does not play notes, but pure harmony:
it is the violin that plays its lightness.
Sold without a frame, the photo of the framed painting attached to the wall is an illustration-only simulation for display purposes. Signed at the bottom, dated and signed on the back.
In this painting, reality yields to a poetic vision. The soft, almost suspended painting technique emphasizes that we are facing an invention of the spirit, a tribute to a life companion whom I deeply admire.
I am Barbara Bartolomei. I create paintings on a variety of themes such as portraits, the human figure and animals, landscapes, still life, sacred art and fantastical compositions. My painting technique unfolds through several specific stages of work as taught by the masters of Florentine Renaissance, executing oil compositions while experimenting with different supports.
I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and at the Sacred Art School of Florence. I am a painting instructor for adults, a teacher in international masters programs and summer courses for Italian and foreign students. I have contributed to the creation of large-format sacred artworks and have curated exhibition projects, from graphics to the photographic catalog.
I paint whatever is expressible through beauty, in a dimension of meeting between dream and reality. I have sold works all over Europe and outside the EU, painting both on commission and for auctions and private collectors.
!!!! Extra-EU shipments: obtaining the documents takes a long time and may take more than two months!!!!
