Vintage 925 Sterling Silver Pendant — Marine Motif "Sand Dollar" (Sand Dollar)
Description of the Lot
Exceptional large vintage pendant in 925 sterling silver, featuring a naturalistic and organic design inspired by the sand dollar.
This piece stands out for its artistic relief work and contrast. The center is adorned with a prominent five-pointed star with a polished finish, framed by a finely chiseled and textured border that enhances the three-dimensionality of the design. The circular base realistically mimics the anatomy of the sea skeleton, including the characteristic indentations and grooves of the species.
The back of the piece is smooth, ideal for resting comfortably on the chest, and the shank/bail is robust, allowing the use of thick chains or leather cords.
