A serene, luminous landscape that draws you in with its softness and quiet detail. A vast, textured sky in pale grey and silver blue fills the upper half of the canvas, moving from cool silver at the top down to warmer tones of sage and celadon where it meets the land. Below the horizon, rolling waves of white, teal, and seafoam green build up in thick, expressive layers, suggesting tall grasses, sea lavender, or the edge of a windswept shore. Touches of warm yellow and ochre flicker through the greens like sunlight catching on dry grass. In the lower right, a cluster of wild, textured brushwork rises like a bush or a spray of coastal plants, full of movement and life. The whole painting has a stillness to it, the kind you feel standing in an open field just before the wind picks up.

I wanted to paint the feeling of being somewhere wide and open, where the sky is huge and the ground is full of small living things. The greens and whites came naturally, and I kept adding texture until it felt alive. It reminds me of the kind of place you want to stand in and just breathe.

Sonia Anton is a Romanian-Australian artist whose passion for painting was shaped from an early age, growing up alongside her mother, a celebrated artist whose work left a lasting impression. Having lived across the world from Australia to Mexico and in different continents, Sonia brings a richness of experience and perspective to every canvas. Surrounded by creativity and self-expression from childhood, she naturally found her own voice through paint and colour. Her work is driven by a deep love of colour, and a more recent fascination with texture, which she explores with growing boldness and confidence. Each piece is an act of genuine self-expression, an invitation to feel rather than simply observe.
