Vova Titov is an Estonian born artist with a degree in interior design from the prestigious Herzen University in St. Petersburg. His paintings, sculptures and drawings are all one of a kind, hand-crafted and have been sold internationally, with some making their way into the homes of Hollywood directors. His art is represented by the Saatchi Gallery, with regular auctions on Catawiki.
"man-machine" A monumental canvas in the spirit of industrial constructivism, in which the human figure and mechanism merge into a single, indivisible image.
At the center of the composition is a fragmented face: a single eye, enclosed in concentric circles, stares at the viewer with cold, mechanical precision. This is not a human gaze; it is optics, a lens, a sight. Around it unfolds the architecture of a body assembled from industrial components: levers, gears, beams, and pipes, arranged with the same logic as an engine drawing.
The dark, almost charcoal mass of the central forms, with the shimmering reddish-brown texture of the relief paste, contrasts with muted planes of terracotta, steel blue, ochre, and pink-gray. This color architecture maintains the tension between the organic and the industrial, between flesh and metal.
