Since 2018, Warren Podguszer, known by the pseudonym Wawapod, has immersed himself in the world of Pop Art and street art in Paris, developing a unique style that fuses geometry and popular iconography. His work is distinguished by the reuse of emblematic icons through repetitions of dots, paying homage to art history and to popular figures he admires.
His works often offer an abstract first reading that becomes figurative depending on the distance from which one observes. He likes the idea that each person who looks at his works doesn’t necessarily see the same thing, but above all he enjoys playing with the observer’s eye.
By reappropriating certain masterpieces, he aims to revive them for a wide audience and invites viewers to explore art history in a playful, modern, and democratic way.
Possibility to collect the work in the Île-de-France region.
This work is a unique piece and is hand-signed on the back and the front by the artist.
Technique: Aerosol paint and acrylic on paper.
Wawapod is a Parisian artist and street artist who exhibits across the country. His works are shown in several galleries in France and Europe.
WAWAPOD belongs to the same artistic current as: Jacques Villeglé, Invader, Jef Aérosol, Speedy Graphito, Vhils, Banksy, Mr. Brainwash, Obey, Shepard Fairey, OneMzr, C215, Basquiat, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Jerome Mesnager.
