Baron de Brane 2018, a renowned red from the Margaux denomination, in Bordeaux, France. This is the "second wine" of Château Brane-Cantenac, a prestigious estate classified as Deuxième Grand Cru.
Characteristics of the wine
The 2018 vintage is a blend composed mainly of Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (34%), with small percentages of Cabernet Franc and Carménère.
Sensory Profile: The nose offers intense aromas of black fruits (blackberry, currants), cranberries, floral notes of violet and spicy hints of black pepper and cedar. On the palate it is described as full, round and silky, with well-integrated tannins and a persistent finish.
Critics' Scores: It was very favourably received, with ratings ranging from 91-92 points from James Suckling to 91 points from Decanter and The Wine Cellar Insider.
