Joaquim Pancho - The red booth

Joaquim Pancho was born in Angola, in 1970, in the city of Luanda, having come to Portugal with his parents at the age of 5, and currently residing in Cascais.
A self-taught artist from a young age, he has always shown an aptitude for the plastic arts, with his painting inspired by the 19th-century impressionism, referring to the works of Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Alfred Sisley, Renoir, as well as Joseph Zbukvic, Alvaro Castagnet, Herman Pekel and Amanda Hyatt.
He is presently active, seeking in his works to capture beauty, light and harmony both in landscape and figurative subjects, with several solo and group exhibitions, at national as well as international levels.
In 2023, his work was mentioned in ART4ANY magazine no. 16, September 2023 issue, with illustrations of some of his works.
On December 5, 2025, he received a certificate of merit at the event Artistas da Europa 2025, held at Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista di Venezia, in Venice, organized by PitturiAmo.
On March 13, 2026, he received a second certificate of merit at the event Prémio Brera 26, held in Milan, organized by PitturiAmo.
