Description from the seller
- Limited edition of the work "Potion Shark" by the artist SKE
- Publisher: Atelier MONTMARTRE FineArt.
- FineArt print on museum-grade Hahnemühle art paper.
- ISO A3 format (42x29.7 cm) easy to frame.
- Edition number: 09/10
- Work created and drawn on a graphic tablet and Photoshop, no AI used. Theme: Astérix and Obelix, cinema, Jaws, Spielberg and graffiti.
- "When the Gauls cross Spielberg, the potion makes waves.
In Potion Shark, Asterix and Obelix ride the wave of pop culture, defying a monster from another myth: that of the big screen.
It's the collision of two legends — cinema and comics — remixed in SKE’s style: explosive, ironic and deliciously irreverent.
Here, the sea smells of magic potion, danger is cartoonish, and even sharks know that Gauls aren’t to be gobbled up."
- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all‑rounder who grew up in the culture of the 80s/90s, inspiring a large portion of his artistic work.
He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with double meanings, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s market value has risen notably. Winner of the first prize in the Urban Master contest (2023), then named Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE has been selected as "Artist of the Month" by Opulence gallery in October, and he has also benefited from a feature in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited at major venues in Europe, the United States and Asia, strengthening his position on the contemporary art scene. At the same time, SKE has also made his mark in the digital art market, a major trend in the last two years, enhancing the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics and texture work characterize a style that has become essential.
SKE is undoubtedly an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.
Renowned & Awarded Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY
SKE’s work sits in a prestigious lineage. His linework shows the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works create a bridge between eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to twist Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront a modern urban aesthetic close to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA
Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons of our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comic books and comics is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokémon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), and the Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY
In a style sometimes reminiscent of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits beside luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the “Hype” aesthetic: you encounter sneaker world (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It is vibrant art, with textured finishes echoing the glossy surface of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski.
This artwork is ideal for enriching a collection or bringing a dynamic touch to your home.
