Santicri has participated in numerous art exhibitions of international significance. A simple, recognizable figure is transformed into something different. The teddy bear, a symbol of affection and protection, retains its shape but loses its function: it is no longer something to touch or to experience lightly.

The surface entirely changes the perception of the work. What from a distance appears familiar becomes, up close, more distant, almost inaccessible. This creates a direct contrast between what we know and what we see.

The work plays precisely on this tension: on the one hand it attracts, on the other it keeps at a distance. In this way, a childhood image is reinterpreted in a contemporary key, becoming something more complex and less reassuring.

Born in 1992 in Macerata, Marche, the Italian artist followed a path that, between studies in surveyorship and architecture, led him to collaborate with a resin sculpture craftsman. There arose the increasingly strong need to find himself and unleash his creativity.
