A vintage full-size French violin labelled Georges Chanot, Paris, 1853, model 4/4 Maggini copy, in good condition and tested and playable.

Up for auction is a nice old vintage full size french Maggini model violin for professional musician or collector. The label says: Georges Chanot a Paris annee 1853. The strongly flamed two pieces maple back measures 358 mm. The total length of the violin is 590 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 167 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 206 mm. There are no cracks or repairs. Original golden brown varnish. The instrument has Tonica strings, new master made bridge, Wittner tailpiece, good boxwood pegs - and it is ready to play. This tonally extremely interesting instrument is now ready to play, and i recommend it highly for its large, warm, sweet and mellow sound full of typically french character.
