The Nokia 3310 is a dual-band GSM 900/1800 phone. It was released on October 12, 2000, replacing the Nokia 3210. This phone was extremely popular: about 126 million units were sold before it was withdrawn from the market[3], making it one of the best-selling mobile phones in the world after the 3210.
The 3310 is a compact phone and weighs 133 grams. Oval-shaped with a carry-handle form, it fits in the palm of one hand. Its monochrome screen displays 84 × 48 pixels. This phone was highly appreciated for its great robustness and shock resistance. It has thus become an internet meme.
The buttons can be operated with the thumb. The blue button, which is the main button, allows you to choose options, and the "C" button returns back or exits the application. There are buttons to navigate up and down, with two arrows indicating the direction. The "On/Off/Profiles" button is a black button located on the top of the phone.
The 3310 is known for incorporating many functions. These include many tools, such as a calculator, a stopwatch, and a reminder function. It has four games, Snake II, Pair II, Space Impact, and Bantumi. It was popular for SMS because it offered the possibility to send long messages that are twice the size of a standard SMS. The phone also has the ability to dial numbers by voice using speed dial.
