Description from the seller
Crafted using the lost-wax casting method, this incense burner features an overall patina of antique bronze. The body of the vessel is adorned with high-relief carving depicting a gathering of literati beneath pine trees, rendered with exquisite clarity in the folds of their garments and the texture of the foliage. The lid is surmounted by a finial in the form of an auspicious mythical beast, while the sides are flanked by handles shaped as elephant heads grasping rings; resting upon three tall, slender legs, the piece exudes an air of elegance and solemn dignity. The incense burner is accompanied by its original fitted box.
