Description from the seller
6-piece set of Historicism glasses – Enameled crest & bead decoration
A decorative set of six amber-colored glasses. Each glass is decorated with an elaborate, multi-colored enamel crest depicting a figure with a sword. Particularly striking is the trim with glass beads (bead-shaped, berry form), which are typical of early modern drinking vessels and here artistically imitated. A fine gold rim completes the lip.
Despite minor signs of age, an impressive ensemble for lovers of historic glass design.
• Manufacturer: Unknown (probably a renowned glassworks in Bohemia or Germany, e.g., in the style of Theresienthal or Fritz Heckert)
• Country of origin: Germany / Bohemia
• Year of appearance: ca. 1880–1920
• Period: Historicism (Gründerzeit)
• Style: Neo-Renaissance / Old German
• Technique: Mouth-blown glass, enamel painting, applied glass beads, gold rim
• Dimensions:
Height: 14.0 cm, Diameter (top): 7.1 cm
• Condition: Good age-appropriate condition. Production-related air bubbles in the glass and visible gold wear on the upper rim are present. No obvious chips at the beads are discernible.
• Shipping: The glasses are properly and transport-securely packed and insured for shipment.
