Description from the seller

Artwork by the artist Gabriel Avila Santiesteban.

THIS IS NOT A PRINT. 100% HANDMADE.
INCLUDES IMAGES OF THE PROCESS

"Presence under interference" addresses the body as a space traversed by stimuli, tensions and distortions that affect how identity manifests itself.

The figure appears contained within itself, partially fragmented, suspended between the impulse to expose and the need to withdraw.

There is no stable representation of the subject here, but a state of presence altered by external and internal forces that continuously modify perception.

The chromatic marks and the visual interruptions that surround the body function as signals of saturation, noise, or emotional wear.

Rather than constructing an explicit narrative, the painting proposes an observation of the body as a sensitive surface where processes of apathy, anxiety, exhaustion, and affective resistance are recorded.

Anatomy is not presented as an idealized form, but as a vulnerable territory subjected to constant interferences.

The work sits within an investigation into the fragmentation of identity and the difficulty of fully inhabiting one’s own emotional experience.

In that context, presence ceases to be understood as a solid affirmation and comes to exist as an unstable, incomplete, and continually altered condition.
