Red leather telephone directory case with decorations, gilding and leather engraving remains one of the most iconic elements of Florentine leather goods. This technique is still used today in artisanal leather workshops scattered around Florence thanks to the transfer of knowledge from father to son, from generation to generation. The Medici coat of arms with the lily of Florence recalls the era of Florentine Renaissance, the period in which the art of leather decoration began and spread in the salons of the Medici palaces.
The cover is held by a leather strap that surrounds it, a curious detail on the back there is a finish with a map.
Very well preserved with the related pen holder and pen on the right side, functioning.

Bella custodia per rubrica telefonica in pelle rossa con decorazioni,  doratura ed incisione della pelle resta uno degli elementi più iconici della pelletteria fiorentina . Questa tecnica è utilizzata ancora oggi nelle pelletterie artigiane sparse per Firenze grazie al passaggio di conoscenze tra padre e figlio, di generazione in generazione. lo stemma dei Medici con il giglio di Firenze che ci riporta all'epoca del Rinascimento fiorentino ,  periodo in cui l'arte della decorazione del cuoio ebbe inizio e si diffuse nei salotti dei palazzi Medicei.
La copertina e fermata da una fettuccia in pelle che la contorna, particolare curioso nel dietro c'è una finitura con una carta geografica.
Molto bel conservato con  relarivo portapenna e penna sulla parte destra funzionante.
