Very elegant Romantic/Empire-style binding in full blond calfskin of the period: covers richly framed with gilt fillets; large central gilt decoration with the arms of the Academy of Paris bearing the inscription: “Académie de Paris – Prix du concours”; smooth and gilt spine; ticketing pieces; marbled edges; old binder’s label from the Parisian Bradel.
