A copper and wood wall relief in the repoussé technique depicting African village life, dating to ca. 1970–1980, about 64 cm wide, 44 cm high and 3 cm deep, origin Africa (likely Congo or Zambia), in good used condition with minor signs of aging and spots.

Copper relief of an African village life.
Africa, probably Congo or Zambia, 1970s
Beautiful vintage African copper relief, a type of wall decoration that depicts scenes from daily life, often originating from the Democratic Republic of Congo or Zambia.
Features of the artwork - Technique:
It is made with the repoussé technique, in which the design is hammered from the back into the copper to create a 3D relief.
Details on the front are then often refined. Description: The scene shows various activities in a village community, including a figure with a pot over the fire, a woman carrying a vessel on her head, and someone sitting at a stool, with a pipe in the mouth.
Origin & Period: Similar pieces often date from the mid-20th century (colonial era) or the 1970s.
Dimensions: 44 cm high and 64 cm wide.
Condition: in excellent condition, lower left corner slightly bent, see photo.
