This work arises from the combination of photography and artificial intelligence as complementary tools for visual creation. The main figure comes from an original photograph taken by the author within her Lovesong series. The model is a real person photographed in a studio under a specific artistic direction, forming the conceptual and emotional core of the image.
From this original portrait, a visual environment generated by artificial intelligence is incorporated, conceived as a creative extension of photography and not as a substitute for it. The background has been developed to dialog with the poetic atmosphere of the series, expanding its narrative and symbolic possibilities.
The work thus establishes a meeting between the reality captured by the camera and the new visual languages offered by contemporary technology. The human presence, authentic and documented, remains at the center of the composition, while the digitally generated elements build a space of evocation, memory, and emotion that transcends the limits of traditional photography.
Lovesong explores themes related to adolescence, identity, beauty, and transcendence, integrating classical artistic processes and innovative tools to create images that invite contemplation and reflection.
Influenced by the great masters of painting such as Caravaggio, Vermeer, Ribera, and Zurbarán, Lía G. aims to provoke an emotional exchange with the viewer. Her intimate body of work covers topics primarily revolving around women, identity, memory, and the transience of existence.
She belongs to the “hinge” generation between analog and digital photography, directing all her efforts and studies toward new image technologies that allow her to carry out ideas and creative projects. Her training includes various courses and specialized workshops, both theoretical and practical, at MoMA NY, CAC Málaga, Centre Pompidou, Facultad de Comunicaciones, Tabacalera, and the Museo del Grabado Español Contemporáneo (MGEC). She also experiments with performance at the Pompidou Málaga under the direction of Catherine Baÿ. She also works with photolithography and photogravure.
• Public and private collections in: Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Mexico, Singapore, and the USA.
In parallel, she works for several European editorial agencies and collaborates on projects related to art education; “En perspectiva” and “Artistas en el Aula” in which artists, teachers, and students participate from early childhood to high school.
