The landscape, for Santoleri, is not a simple natural view, but a mental and emotional structure, a “geography interior” that reflects moods, silences and synthetic visions of the real. His painting is characterized by an essential and contemplative approach: forms are reduced to the essential, outlines are clear, chromatic fields sober, in a constant tension between formal rigor and lyrical depth.
His works evoke suspended, almost dreamlike atmospheres, where light has a symbolic function more than a descriptive one, and every element – a hill, a tree, a house – becomes an archetype. His style, balanced between visual minimalism and emotional intensity, recalls certain outcomes of abstract landscape painting and Italian painting of the twentieth century, while maintaining a completely personal voice.
In 2022 he was selected for the prestigious Premio Marche – Biennale of Contemporary Art, a recognition that confirms the value of his research in the panorama of Italian contemporary art.
His works are present in private collections and exhibition spaces in Italy and abroad, across Europe, the United States and Asia, as a testament to the universality of his visual language.
