Mariscal is a very famous Catalan artist and designer. He designed this chess set with beautiful figures and oddly childish shapes toward the end of the 20th century, when his work was at its peak due to the newly created design of Cobi, Barcelona 92 mascot.
Various shapes in this chess set somehow evoke the famous design. It is a perfect set to decorate, and also to play thanks to the size and weight (the king is 7 cm, the pawn 3.5 cm).
The board is made of well-treated aluminium, has a stylish design and bears the author's signature.
