Medsan, Lost Giant Pikachu (迷子の巨大ピカチュウ) - Hand Signed, 40 × 60 cm giclée, édition limitée no. 1, 2026, France, in excellent condition, depicting a giant Pikachu in a snowy village in a pop art ukiyo-e mashup.
Description from the seller
With this portrait-format work (40 × 60 cm), Medsan presents a stunning mashup that confronts the most famous icon of modern Japanese pop culture with the melancholic poetry of an Edo-era winter landscape. This giclée features a gigantic Pikachu, rising like a kaiju (giant monster) in the middle of a traditional snow-covered village.
The emotion of the composition lies in the contrast between the harmless nature of the character and the consequences of its size. The electric giant with bright yellow fur, frozen under the snowflakes, wears an expression of confusion, sadness, and deep loneliness. At its feet, the result of its clumsiness is visible: a thatched wooden house lies crushed and shattered. The footprints in the snow and the total absence of human presence emphasize that the villagers have fled, leaving the creature alone to face its accidental disaster.
The impact of the composition is masterfully highlighted by a cool, desaturated color palette — dominated by grays, midnight blues, and the whiteness of the snow — which makes the central yellow figure stand out even more. The bold line art adheres scrupulously to ukiyo-e printmaking codes, recalling Hiroshige’s famous winter scenes, while injecting a dramatic pop-art dimension. The traditional vertical cartouche, this time placed at the top left, contains the artist’s signature in katakana (メドサン) and anchors the work in its timeless style.
A conceptual piece, both aesthetic and poetic with a touch of dark humor, ideal for bringing a pop, graphic, and deeply narrative touch to a contemporary, design-forward interior.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living, plural contemporary creation. Installed like a true artistic production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work influenced by cinematography and realism. At his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo follows a more instinctive pursuit, blending abstract art, naive art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and supervised within the studio, sharing a common artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
