Maneki Neko (巨大な招き猫), hand signed by Medsan, a 40 × 40 cm giclée on wood-mounted canvas, edition limitée (number 1) from 2026, depicting Pop Art and Edo-era miniature figures around a colossal lucky cat, in excellent condition and sold directly from the artist with certificate on request.
Description from the seller
With this square-format work, the artist reimagines one of the most popular figures in Japanese folklore through his signature scale play. This giclee features a monumental Maneki Neko, the famous beckoning cat, surrounded by a crowd of miniature Edo-period characters.
The interaction between the gigantic figure and the lilliputians creates a captivating visual dynamic. Villagers, merchants, and geishas bustle at the feline’s feet, brandishing and carrying small, sparkling oval gold pieces (koban), as genuine offerings to the deity of fortune. The cat, with its classic tri-color fur and a collar bearing traditional wave motifs (seigaiha), clutches a colossal coin against its chest. The artist’s signature in katakana (メドサン) is majestically integrated in black on the gold of this giant koban, merging the creator’s mark with the prosperity symbol in place of the usual cartouche.
Chromatic impact rests on the use of a soft, mint-green, solid background, which makes the shine of the gold elements and the white, black, and orange areas of the feline explode. The sharp line work and meticulous detailing of the villagers’ costumes elevate the encounter between the aesthetics of traditional ukiyo-e printmaking and the visual impact of Pop Art.
A joyful piece, rich in symbolism and narrative details, ideal for catching the eye (and good fortune) while bringing a touch of color, humor, and originality to contemporary interior decor.

Established as a true site of artistic production, the studio operates both in collaborative creation and individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, art brut, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, realized, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and a unique identity for each artist.
