Gustave ASSIRE, French painter born in 1870 in Angers, died in 1937 in Paris.
He was a pupil of B. Constant, J-P Laurens, Cormon and Gustave Moreau at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris. From 1900, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français then at the Salon d'Automne. Among others, he illustrated Verlaine and Musset.
