Trois Chrysanthèmes, an oil on canvas from 1930–1940, originated in France and sold with a frame.
Description from the seller
- Oil on canvas. Original canvas. Restorations on the back.
- Under the plumage of cherry blossoms that shed their pink snow, three girls inhabit the garden like living porcelain statues, wrapped in the silk of white kimonos that exude the aroma of the most exquisite Japonisme. They are small lost Butterflies in a interwar dream, where the intuitive geometry of their outfits fuses with the morning light which, as in an Anselme painting, lends the scene a vibrant sobriety. In that dreamt‑East corner where Europe imagines, among crystal dragonflies and the hush of Puccini, the girls dedicate to us the poem of a paused childhood, while time yields, intricate and slow, to the purity of a white that is not a color, but the canvas where nostalgia for a world dissolves into poetry.
- Image dimensions without frame: 54 x 65 cm / 65 x 75 cm with exclusive custom frame.
