Description from the seller
Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). Based in Spain.
This graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and Audiovisual Communication from the University of Burgos has had a distinguished academic formation, complemented by experiences abroad thanks to the Erasmus scholarships he carried out in Portugal and Belgium.
His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, digital art and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings and collages. His style is characterized by a rich, vivid and expressive color palette, as well as a plastic compositional style with dynamic and unusual perspectives, influenced by his passion for analog photography.
The subjects he tackles in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits… that’s it,” following David Hockney’s famous phrase. Although his work starts from figurative representation, he has recently begun to experiment with geometric abstraction, always in large, expansive formats.

For over 20 years, he has presented his work in various locations, such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria and Salamanca, where his work is especially recognized. In addition, he has won painting prizes at both national and international levels, which demonstrates his talent and recognition in the artistic field.
Recently he won the prize at the III Motril Art Contest. 2024.
In addition to his presence in exhibitions, his works form part of multiple private collections around the world. This shows that his work is valued not only by the general public but also by collectors and art lovers who appreciate his unique style and technical skill.
In short, this graduate in Fine Arts and Audiovisual Communication has developed a distinguished artistic career, focused on oil painting, acrylic, digital art, paper and watercolor. His work is characterized by a rich color palette, a plastic compositional style and unusual perspectives.
