Description
Magnificent set of two authentic, handcrafted fireplace ornaments from the 19th century, made of high-quality red and yellow copper (brass). This set forms a atmospheric decorative ensemble for a classic open fireplace, stove, or country-style interior.
1. Classic Old Dutch Dousing Pot (Left)
Function: Historical object used to smother glowing embers with limited oxygen.
Details: Beautiful two-tone design with a red-copper body and a yellow-copper (brass) lid and rim. The pot stands on three characteristic brass feet and features a sturdy handle.
2. Helmet-shaped Coal Scuttle / Coal Bucket (Right)
Function: Traditional bucket for the storage and pouring of coal or fireplace wood.
Details: Elegant helmet-style made of red copper with a sturdy, wide base. Fitted with a nicely worked brass mounting on the side and a turned wooden handle that provides a classic look and protection against heat.
Condition:
