Description from the seller

The work, painted in wash on panel, fits into studies on the weight of bodies to rewrite new geographies of the boundaries of one’s self with the “other” or “the other” and depicts two young women whose lines interlock as if reconstructing a new form among curves, fullness and emptiness.

The painting here has more synthetic and expressive characteristics, with lacquer-like notes of garanza, and it stands apart from the artist’s other oil works for the delicacy of the tones.

It expresses beauty, elegance and mystery.

The panel is 9 mm thick. A simple protective frame is recommended.

With the artwork will also be shipped the certificate of authenticity as an original work.

Jara Marzulli’s works are part of private collections in many parts of the world, public and museum collections such as in Athens, Catania at MacS, in the Pinacoteca of Gaeta and at the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera and in Cadiz, Spain. She also collaborates with “The Guide artists,” a physical and online art store offering the finest figurative art worldwide.

Numerous publications appear in important catalogs, books and online and print magazines with international reach. The latest book “La statura della palma” published by Selvatiche Edizioni, with 15 images of her works, in collaboration with the poet Francesca del Moro, can be ordered from various stores, platforms or at ordini@selvaticheedizioni.com.

Jara Marzulli
born in Bari, she graduated from the Liceo Artistico of Bari and later from the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari with top grades. Since 1998 she has participated in exhibitions and competitions, quickly earning recognition, awards and important selections.

Her figurative realist painting style quickly became recognizable and, from 2004, international experiences began through fairs, biennales and important exhibitions.

Her art grows and tells of a feeling that is at once ecstatic and carnal, made even more incisive and moving by the technical perfection that characterizes the artist. A lucid and wrenching expressive quality, an indefinable purity that dresses itself in painting, a constant game of displacement, of role reversal between the artist who paints and the depicted subject.

Numerous are the prestigious biennials and art exhibitions where she has shown in Italy and abroad, such as in Turkey, at the Art Taipei Fair in Taiwan, China at the Red Elation gallery, Hong Kong, at the MEAM Museum in Barcelona, Dublin, at the Mainz Museum, Buenos Aires in Argentina and in London.

Jara Marzulli’s figures have intense, direct, frontal gazes. They have the dignity of subjects ready to respond with great immediacy. The characters occupying almost the entire canvas space manage to visually represent men, women, girls and boys who seem to recognize the observer as a stranger, sustain his gaze, push him away, distance themselves to defend the silence of their precious inner world.
