Biography:

Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the journey of a polymorphic artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a draftsman, Kobalt discovers at a very young age his first passion, music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his early talents lead him to take a bold decision: to invest the money intended to fund his higher education into creating his first album.

Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the expected success, but it marks the beginning of an artistic career rich in experimentation.

Parallel to his musical career, Kobalt enters the world of advertising as a designer/copywriter for the iconic Playboy magazine. For many years, he puts his creativity to the service of the publication by creating and producing the magazine's advertising campaigns.

The turning point in his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraman, thus exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in global street art.

A pioneer of computer-assisted art creation, Kobalt stands out with nearly 3000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

His artistic approach is marked by the bold use of humor, provocation and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for reworking magazine covers, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.

Despite the digital era, Kobalt has chosen to stay off social media, thus preserving a certain privacy.

Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation and humor.
