Pocket watch with an 18k gold case and two back covers, reference 73428, dating to ca. 1850–1900, with manual-wind movement, 55.8 mm diameter and total weight 103.85 g, in good condition with visible wear and in working order.
Description from the seller
Pocket watch with case and two back covers in 18k gold, hallmarked. Estimated period: late 1800s to early 1900s. White enamel dial with Arabic and Roman numerals, with a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. Back cover of the case with raised engraving. On the inner lid, the inscription Ancre Ligne Droite Spiral Breguet (straight-line lever escapement with Breguet hairspring), 11 jewels, 3 chatons (jewel settings), Levees Visibles, and the serial number No. 73428.
Condition: modest; there are some dents along the edge of the case, on the inner lid, and on the rear cover as visible in the photos. Hour hand with the terminal part restored, and the seconds hand slightly bent. Winding crown oxidized at the top as shown in the photo. Functional. Some signs of oxidation in the movement. To ensure steady, uninterrupted operation, proper maintenance of the mechanism is recommended. Low-wind situations can occasionally cause temporary stops.
