Description from the seller
This figurative work immerses us in an intimate and mysterious atmosphere, blending the elegance of the Roaring Twenties with dreamlike aesthetics. A woman, dressed in a sumptuous blue and gold kimono with traditional motifs, stands pensively before a large octagonal mirror with lines typical of the Art Deco style. Lit by the warm glow of an ornate table lamp and by the cold rays of the moon that filter through a geometric screen, the scene plays with captivating dualities. Objectively, the strength of the composition lies in its surreal narrative treatment: the mirror does not reflect the darkness of the room, but the majestic, daytime vision of Mount Fuji looming over a tranquil lake. This excellent command of chromatic and light contrasts freezes a moment of poetic introspection, creating a striking visual bridge between the hush of the interior and the vastness of the exterior landscape.
