The cast bars have a classic square cast bar design. Cast gold bars have the advantage over minted bars that the surface is less susceptible to scratches. A gold bar produced by the casting process can be safely held in the hand to weigh the high specific gravity of 99.99% pure gold in the hand, without fear of damaging the bar, or being affected by fingerprints. Cast bars inherently have round edges and small solidification lines due to the manufacturing process. This makes every Au bar a unique piece.
