Roland Oudot was a French painter, lithographer and theatre designer. He is best known for his association with the Poetic Realism movement, which emphasized a lyrical and decorative approach to realism, often depicting landscapes, still lifes and figures with soft, harmonious colors and graceful compositions.

Oudot studied at the School of Decorative Arts and joined a circle of artists who sought to combine traditional techniques with a modern sensibility. His works are often recognized for their elegance and serenity, capturing the beauty of daily life in a poetic yet accessible style. In addition to painting, Oudot contributed to the world of theatre by designing sets and costumes for stage productions, adding another dimension of versatility to his career.
