Magnificent box for tobacco or cigar humidifier made of wood covered with root wood veneer, with a marquetry ship on the top lid and a metallic Hermès logo on the interior.
The piece stands out for its exquisite root wood veneer, featuring a complex and organic grain. On the top lid, a central medallion houses the delicate figure of a ship in marquetry executed with woods of different tones. The interior is spacious, where a small metal Hermès logo in the lower left corner of the lid stands out, an undisputed seal of the brand’s distinction, placed there since this piece belonged to a shareholder of the French house.
The piece retains its original humidification system, consisting of a perforated bronze support that holds a block of pumice stone. This method allowed maintaining a constant and natural humidity level for tobacco preservation.
The side handles, corner embellishments, and the double lock with the original key are made of bronze.
