Description from the seller
This fascinating painting from 1911 depicts a traditional rural scene, with a farmer guiding two oxen and a horse during field work. The work conveys a strong sense of authenticity and pastoral life, thanks to the careful rendering of the animals, the ground, and the small chapel in the background, topped by a large cross that adds a symbolic and contemplative touch.
The composition is balanced and bright, with a blue sky dotted with white clouds that lends depth and serenity to the whole. The signature A. Dela Calle is visible in the lower right corner.
