Juego de té Macau, a two‑piece Macau porcelain tea set in fine eggshell porcelain featuring a Famille Rose teapot and a hand‑painted cup with saucer, dating to the 1960s–1970s and originating from Macao.
Description from the seller
Refined Macau porcelain set consisting of a decorative teapot and a delicate eggshell porcelain cup with saucer.
The teapot is crafted in the Famille Rose style, recognizable by its rich polychromy, oriental scenes, and elaborate floral motifs, inspired by traditional export Chinese porcelain. It features a rattan-top handle and highly detailed glazed decoration.
The cup and saucer are made in fine translucent eggshell porcelain and stand out for being hand-painted, with delicate floral motifs and birds in lively colors. At the base is the mark “Fabricado em Macau.” Based on the style, the mark “Fabricado em Macau,” the decoration, and the type of porcelain, I would place the pieces roughly around:
Late 1960s to 1970s for the eggshell cup and saucer.
1960s–70s also for the Famille Rose teapot.
The important detail is precisely the inscription in Portuguese “Fabricado em Macau,” very typical of export-oriented production during the Portuguese administration of Macau, especially between 1950 and 1980.
Additionally:
Eggshell porcelain had a huge surge in tourism and export in the 1960s–70s.
The Famille Rose decoration on the teapot closely matches decorative reproductions of that era.
The handle is also very characteristic of pieces exported in the 70s.
A highly decorative and elegant set, ideal for collectors of Oriental porcelain, vintage Asian pieces, or lovers of Macau Chinese artisan porcelain.
Overall condition good, in keeping with its age. The teapot spout shows wear/restoration visible at the tip (see photographs).
