Description from the seller
Queen Margot
Contemporary reinterpretation of the portrait of Margaret of Valois (La Reine Margot)
Slasky, 2026
Giclée print on Hahnemühle canvas, limited edition
Dimensions: 50 × 40 cm (image)
In this refined limited edition, the artist Slasky offers a evocative contemporary reinterpretation of the famous Renaissance portrait of Margaret of Valois, known as “Queen Margot.” One of the most fascinating figures of the 16th century, the Queen of Navarre and of France is depicted here in a half-length portrait with a serene and penetrating gaze, wrapped in a sumptuous scarlet red gown richly adorned with pearls, gems, and lace, in keeping with the conventions of 16th-century court portraiture.
The technique used is Giclée printing on Hahnemühle canvas, one of the highest qualities currently available, guaranteeing extraordinary depth of color, color fidelity, and a brushwork texture very close to traditional painting.
The surface of the canvas preserves the characteristic texture of artist canvas, highlighting the richness of the fabrics and the luminosity of the complexion.
The work measures 50 × 40 cm and is produced in a limited and numbered edition, giving it exclusive collectible value.
Giclée on Hahnemühle 350g + certificate of authenticity
