Description from the seller
Elegant pair of Japanese porcelain bowls in the classic blue-and-white decor with finely worked peacock and floral motifs. The decorative bowls depict a majestic peacock among blooming branches, framed by richly ornate borders in the traditional Imari or Arita style.
The hand-painted underglaze painting impresses with its fine detail work and the intense cobalt-blue coloring. Notably, the artistically executed feather details of the peacock's tail and the harmonious combination of floral and geometric ornaments stand out.
The scalloped shape of the rim lends the bowls an elegant, almost petal-like silhouette and emphasizes their decorative character. Ideal as wall decor, serving bowls, or Asian collector's items.
The bowls presumably originate from Japan and were made in the second half of the 20th century. On the underside there is a handwritten underglaze mark.
The bowls have no chips or cracks. Sticker residue is present.
The goods are wrapped in bubble wrap and encased in biodegradable Styrofoam inside a double-walled carton, shipped via DHL.
