Description from the seller

Late 20th-century solid silver opening egg with its matching stand. Silver, enamel, and pearls. Total height: 8 cm. A rare display piece from Portugal.

Magnificent display item consisting of a solid silver opening egg and its original stand, also in solid silver. Total height of the ensemble: about 8 cm.

The egg is coated with a deep, luminous green enamel, enhanced by a finely worked mount set with genuine pearls and faceted stones, adding sparkle and refinement. The interior is mirror-polished, with a perfectly functional hinge.

The piece bears various silver marks, including the Lisbon 925 mark, visible on the bale and inside the egg, attesting to the metal’s quality.

The stand, also made of solid silver, is richly worked. It features touches of blue enamel and a sculpted decorative motif. The whole is embellished with inset faceted stones, providing an elegant contrast between the egg’s intense green and the bluish tones of the base.

This is a particularly meticulous piece of silversmithing, revealing refined craftsmanship and great mastery of traditional techniques in solid silver, enamel, and cloisonné-like stone settings.

The fineness of the openwork, the high quality of the finishes, and the harmony between enamel, silver, and stones all testify to a high-level creation intended for a discerning clientele.

Uncommon on the market, especially sought after when kept complete with its original stand.

A true collectible piece or a refined display item.
