Description from the seller
Vintage Arts & Crafts Plantentafel / Jardinière – circa 1970-1980
Description
An elegant and characterful vintage plant table (jardinière) in the recognizable Arts & Crafts style, manufactured in England or Western Europe. This piece perfectly reflects the philosophy of the Arts & Crafts movement: simplicity in form, honest construction, and a strong emphasis on the natural beauty of the wood. The table is made from solid quarter-sawn timber, which yields a beautiful, lively flame figure in the wood surface. The design stands out with the slender legs that taper slightly outward and the subtly curved top with raised edges. Under the edge is a decorative, softly curved skirt that adds further elegance to the table. Halfway down the legs is a practical extra shelf, providing additional stability and space for a second plant or decorative object.
Thanks to its slim and minimalist design, this timeless piece fits both classic, eclectic, and modern interiors.
Condition:
General: In good vintage condition with signs of age and use appropriate to the age of the piece.
Woodwork: The wood has developed a beautiful, warm, dark patina.
Details: There are some light stains and discolorations on the shelves (see photos), probably from historical use as a plant stand. The construction is solid and stable.
The photos are part of the description. When shipping, the piece is carefully packaged and shipped insured.
