Alessandro Gandolfi - Marble #1

The photograph comes from a 2023 project carried out in Tuscany (Italy) in the Apuan Alps and dedicated to telling the story of Carrara marble: in this image, a basin in the quarry of the company Successori Adolfo Corsi in the locality of Calagio.

The image is signed on the back and measures 30x40 cm. It is printed in a limited edition (25 copies) on Hahnemühle Baryta FB 350 g/m² paper and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Alessandro Gandolfi is an Italian professional photographer and journalist. Interested in telling the small and large changes of contemporary society, his reports have appeared in outlets around the world and have been exhibited in various international photography exhibitions and festivals. He has received international recognitions such as the Sony World Photography Award, the NPPA Best of Photojournalism, the POY - Pictures of the Year, and the PDN. Eight of his reports published in National Geographic Italia have earned the “Best Edit Award” as the best reportage published across the magazine’s various local editions.
