AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Not your doll - 23 (n.689)
The measurements are:
- collage: 40.00 x 30.00 cm
- collage + frame: 46.70 cm x 36.70 cm; thickness 2.50 cm
Acrylic painting on shredded paper on canvas
Framed; ready to hang

It is a collage made with acrylic paints and many small pieces of paper.
I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper becomes art instead of ending up in the trash.

In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest works I have created.

On these little scraps of paper one can read words and phrases scattered here and there.

Often it happens this way when we truly approach another person: sometimes we perceive their secret messages, sometimes not.

The work is sold framed and ready to hang thanks to the hook on the back.

The surface features small reliefs and I enjoy caressing it, feeling it...
I also use acrylic resin on the surface, which gives a glossy effect and protects the colors from sunlight and dust.

Each piece is packed securely, wrapped and protected for shipping and will arrive in a completely secure package, including the Certificate of Authenticity.
I use DHL/UPS courier: shipping within Europe arrives in 24/48 hours; international shipping arrives in 48/72 hours. Some delays may be caused by customs clearance at borders.
Shipping takes about 7 days; about 10 days for non-EU countries.
A tracking number is provided for the shipment.

Different light sources can give different colors to the photos.
Dimensions may vary slightly as I personally prepare the wooden frame, stretch the canvas and fix it to the frame.

Thank you.

Important notice for international buyers (non-EU):
Customs duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price nor in the shipping costs. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. The amount should be between 10% and 20% of the value of the artwork.

Born in 1974 I am self-taught.

After an initial period devoted to sculpture there was a long standstill lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings.

I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I am pushing myself to paint faces of people both imaginary and real.

For me painting is "freezing time" at that exact moment; my painting often is a faded memory and thus my works are "worn, eroded by time." Sometimes the subject of my paintings are corners of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that – over time – grow on the surface.
Time that passes inexorably is the main theme of my works.

Coming from a beautiful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceptible to the touch as well as to the naked eye.

In this recent period, after several years in which my works were made from small scraps of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids repeated with mathematical rigor which, when viewed up close, seem to form a colored abstract picture but as you move away a portrait emerges from the many discs of painted wood.

Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all of my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report the fact that they are not their partners’ dolls and cannot be mistreated or worse, victims of violence.
